Hi.

I feel very lucky to say my life has been filled with a unique combination of professional and academic experiences. Here are a few relevant to my work.

I hold a Masters in Education from Harvard University where my course of study focused on adolescent development. I am a certified secondary-ed teacher and have taught history in both the U.S. and abroad, most recently for four years in Taiwan where I also coached basketball and played a little hoops myself.

I’ve also had a long career as a personal trainer and strength coach, working in my first gym while still a teenager. In the thirteen years since, I’ve worked with more than four hundred clients in the U.S. and abroad. I currently hold an International Personal Training License and Fitness Nutrition Specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I have a thing for kettlebells (you should too) and hold the world-renowned Russian Kettlebell Certification. (To read a bit more about my philosophy on physical training please click HERE)

What now feels like a million years ago, I played basketball at Colby College, where I was a two year captain and an All-Maine player.

I was born in England (one of 5 kids), but raised in Maine, and nowadays live in Portland where I’ve operated my practice for the last several years. I feel very lucky to be back serving this community.

When I’m not training and coaching, I’m usually walking, writing (!), or taking a nap.

I’d love to learn about you and share more about my work. Please click HERE to schedule a free consultation so we can chat in person.
